Scotland Yard made"numerous errors" in the investigation into VIP paedophiles, an independent review has found.
The review, by retired High Court judge Sir Richard Henriques, said the decision to end the investigation should have been made much earlier.
He identified 43 errors, including that the police were wrong to believe the one complainant, who has remained anonymous but was referred to as Nick.
The review disclosed that "Nick" is now being investigated for attempting to pervert the course of justice and that five officers have been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
