Footballer Adam Johnson has been sentenced to six years in prison for engaging in sexual activity with a 15-year-old fan.
The former England international showed no emotion as he was sentenced at Bradford Crown Court, and sat with his head bowed after the judge finished speaking.
The 28-year-old was found guilty of sexual activity with the teenager following an incident in his Range Rover in County Durham in 2015 in which he kissed and sexually touched her.
Johnson, who intends to appeal, also admitted another charge of sexual activity with a child and grooming the girl.
It can now also be reported that Johnson had been arrested on suspicion of possessing extreme pornography involving animals, but police are no longer pursuing it.
Johnson, who played for Premier League clubs Sunderland and Manchester City, had been re-arrested when detectives investigated the original grooming and child sex allegations.
Investigators also discovered internet searches for teenage sex websites, but prosecutors said this was not for underage girls.
And medication used to treat a sexually transmitted disease was also found during a search of his mansion.
A judge previously banned this information from being reported, but these orders were lifted after a legal challenge from Sky News and other media organisations following Johnson's sentence.
As he was led to the cells, Johnson refused to look at his family.
The winger, who was told his 15-year-old victim has suffered "severe psychological harm", stood with his hands behind his back as Judge Jonathan Rose passed sentence.
The judge said Johnson had taken advantage of a "young teenager's adoration of a successful celebrity".
He added it had been Johnson's intention to engage in sexual activity with the girl, knowing she was under 16.
The judge told Johnson the offences happened "at a time when you were engaged in frequent sexual intercourse with multiple partners".
He also said the footballer would need treatment for his "compulsive drive to have new sexual experiences".
Johnson's initial decision not to plead guilty meant the victim was subjected to a year of being called a liar, including by fans at matches, the court heard.
His victim told the court she had "entered many dark places" and "felt everyone was against me due to Adam Johnson protesting his innocence".
"My school work has suffered massively as I have been unable to attend on some occasions due to stress related to the case and bullying from people at school," she said.
"I am now underachieving in all of my subjects at school and have had to stop studying some subjects in the hope of being able to cope better."
A restraining order banning Johnson from contacting the victim has also been imposed.
He has also been ordered to pay £50,000 of the prosecution's £67,132 costs.
Detective Inspector Aelfwynn Sampson, of Durham Constabulary, said the "carefully considered and significant sentence" sent out a "clear message".
An NSPCC spokesperson said Johnson's "horrifying and inexcusable" conduct was exacerbated by his not guilty plea "which forced his victim to suffer the harrowing experience of giving evidence".
